Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service
January 19, 2009

"Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve." -Martin Luther King Jr.

Thousands of Americans across the country will celebrate the national holiday honoring the life and work of Martin Luther King Jr. by making the holiday "a day ON, not a day off." Join those serving their community on the King holiday. The theme for MLK Day of Service 2009 is Realizing the Dream. Help keep Dr. King's legacy of service to others alive!

View a listing of community service projects from MLK Day 2008! Also, view Mayor Adrian M. Fenty's greeting** to volunteers at the 2008 MLK Day of Service at the District's Community for Creative Nonviolence.

For more information please email Letitia Tajuba or call (202) 727-9417.
