DCPS Beautification Day
August 21, 2010

Join Serve DC and DC Public Schools for DCPS Beautification Day 2010 which will take place on August 21. The annual day of service was established in 2005 as the official day for a citywide “spruce up” of all DC public school buildings and front grounds in preparation for school opening. This activity, in past years, has been a joint venture of DCPS, parent leaders and community organizations. Beautification efforts include landscaping, trash pickup, light painting, planting flowers and other external beautification efforts. Last year's event had more than 2,000 volunteers who populated all DCPS schools to help restore the facilities in preparation for the start of schools!
